TV9 - CCL 2 Final Match Controversy Between "KB Vs CR" : "CCL Kicchu" - Part 6.....! In the final match of CCL Cup 2 (Celebrity Cricket League Season 2) which was between Chennai Rhinos and Karnataka Bulldozers, there was a controversy of run out in the match during the last ball of the match. When Vikraanth was bowling the last ball of CCL 2 finale match 2nd innings, he ran out non-striker Karthik of Karnataka Bulldozers in his follow-through without completing that delivery. This action totally made the Karnataka Bulldozers team stunned. There was a great argument between the umpires and Chennai Rhinos team that it should be considered as run out, but the umpires denied it and as a result Karthik was not out. Actually, when the bowler enters his delivery stride, the non-striking batsman usually 'backs up'. This means he leaves his popping crease and walks towards the other end of the wicket so that it will take him less time for him to reach the other end if he and his batting partner choose to attempt a run. Sometimes a batsman, whilst backing up, leaves the popping crease before the bowler has actually delivered the ball. When this happens sometimes the bowler may attempt to run the non-striking batsman out. Getting a batsman out this way is legal but is generally considered to be against the spirit of the game as the non-striker usually accidentally leaves the crease.
